Speak, and hear it back in another language — or hear the same language said more naturally. Pick the two languages and a tone, press the button, and talk.
Check that the microphone and speech recognition permissions are allowed under Settings › Fix My English. If you refused them the first time, they have to be turned back on there — the app cannot ask again.
The app does not detect the spoken language; it uses the language you chose as the source. If you picked the wrong one, what you said will be transcribed as nonsense in the other language. Change the source language and try again.
The target language probably has no voice installed on your device. On iOS these live under Settings › Accessibility › Spoken Content › Voices.
Our server limits how many requests come from one network in a short period, so that one automated client cannot exhaust the service for everyone. Wait a moment and try again.
Usually a network problem or a brief hiccup on the translation service. Try again; if it persists, get in touch.
